Rhythm Games
The first time I played a rhythm game was at my parents' friend's
house. It was a guitar hero game and they had the drum and guitar kit.
Eye of The Tiger was playing and i played the drums. It was a formative
memory for sure. Now I still regularly play rhythm games in the form of
Ensemble Stars Music, because Love Live SIF shut down a couple of years
ago.
I used to play rhythm games on the wii at my uni library. My kind senior
downloaded the games off the web and loaded it into the wii using some
tech magic. I played rhythm haven, taiko, and even guitar hero- though
guitar hero with the default wiimote has awful controls and terrible
feel to it.
On PC I sometimes play muse dash, but one-off times I've played
trombone champ, osu, klang 2, unbeatable (white label), and super crazy
rhythm castle. I didn't finish the last one since i played solo and
didn't like the gameplay loop of rhythem + combat/defense. I'm a pure
rhythm guy myself and I don't like many gimmick in my rhythm
I love Enstars for what it is but I hate the gacha element and any
gimmicks that they force onto the expert mode (imo they should be
strictly for special beatmaps). I havent full combo's Have You Been
Naughty Or Nice on expert exactly because of the slowed down part of the
beatmap that drives me up the wall!! get that out of there! Fast-paced
changes like Melting Rogue Soul are fine, even holding off notes like in
Eccentric Party Night is more favorable than slowing everything down!!
That's my rant for the day. I have a lot of opinions on games in
general so I always look forward to yapping about them as i is my
interest.
I'm currently on a game No-buy until i finish my 100+ game backlog I
got from itchio charity bundles. Yes I will get through them all before
spending another cent on a game. Yes I will falter but I will try my
hardest to stay true to my word. Yes I've found lots of hidden indie
gems by playing through the list of games donated for a good cause. Yes
you should also donate to a charity game bundle if you have the chance.
